In addition to the free bike rentals and instruction in the park sponsored by Boston Bikes there are 2 longer bike rides associated with this event.
1) At 2 p.m. start at the festival and ride along the Southwest Corridor and parts of the Emerald Necklace and back to the park in time for the Boston POPs concert.
Meet at the main Circle the City information table.  The ride will be led by Jessica Mink and will explore possible future connections between these great off street bike and pedestrian corridors.
2) As part of Common Boston you can meet at 2 p.m. downtown at the Fiedler Foot Bridge (Arlington and Beacon) and enjoy a leisurely Sunday ride along the Emerald Necklace from the Boston Common to Franklin Park, the way Olmsted intended, as Laurie Pessah from Toole Design Group discusses the ins and outs of the Boston Bicycle Master Plan along the way. This seven-mile ride, largely along dedicated paths, will have intermittent stops for discussion. More info here http://commonboston.org/ride-the-necklace/
