NewtonSERVES - A great way to start Bay State Bike Week!

On Sunday, May 15, 2011 from 12:30-4:15 p.m., Bike Newton is sponsoring a city-wide NewtonSERVES community service project with the goal of improving off-road bike paths in Newton.  In order to ensure the enjoyment and safety of walkers and bikers, basic clearing of debris will be accompanied by pruning and thinning of trailside growth, as well as improvement of trail surface conditions through smoothing, redistribution of crushed rock, and marking of hazards. Casey Overpass public meeting April 6th

The first public meeting of the Forest Hills Casey Overpass Project is this coming Wednesday April 6th in the Agassiz School. Impending work on SWC path at Centre and Lamartine

(Updated March 30 with plans attached, see below)

 

Just got this from Kyle over at the JPNDC. The flyer is attached below. Basically, they're re-working that whole intersection as part of the Jackson Square redevelopment. It should vastly improve the crosswalk across Centre that links the SWC path at Jackson Square. Right now, the crosswalk and ramps are narrow, and the T-station side is offset from the path such that you have to negotiate a tight turn, often…
